The Higher Education Council of Slovenia has passed an agreement in accordance with article 49 of the Higher Education Act (Ur. l. RS, št. 100/04-UPB2) and in accordance with the Accreditation Standard for Higher Education Institutions and Study Programmes (Ur. l. RS, št. 101/04), and has thus given the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences (FALS) the consensus to carry out new study programmes leading to degrees in 1st, 2nd and third degree (PhD) studies. The Council's decision was passed on its 7. session on 18.11. 2005.
FALS offers one Bachelor's programme and six vocational college programmes:
BACHELOR'S PROGRAMME - Duration: 3 years (180 ECTS). In order to enrol for this programme candidates will be required to have passed a grammar school matura examination (a secondary school leaving examination equivalent to British A levels) or a vocational qualifications examination from any secondary school programme, which has to also be supplemented with a passed exam from one of the matura subjects (the chosen matura subject needs to be different from the already passed subjects in the vocational qualifications examination). Candidates who already have a degree in a post-secondary or college programme from the same professional field or have completed a four year secondary school programme before 01.06. 1995 are also eligible.

Agriculture and Environment
VOCATIONAL COLLEGE PROGRAMMES: Duration: 3 years (180 ECTS). In order to enrol for this programme, candidates will be required to have passed one of the following: the final exam administered at four year secondary school programmes, a vocational qualifications examination or a grammar school matura examination (a secondary school leaving examination equivalent to British A levels).
